The vast majority of parts we sell are items recovered from boats we have scrapped. WE ARE NOT A CHANDLERY so each description we give will be as accurate as we can provide. Many items taken off of older boats are difficult to identify or find addition information for. We therefore encourage you to study the pictures we provide closely.
We reserve the right to remove items from sale. If you have purchased an item we then cannot locate in our warehouse we will notify you and then issue you a full refund.
Please closely study the pictures and description we provide for each item. If you have any questions you can always ask us before purchasing. You can do this through the “Request More Info” tab that is present on every listing.
We also list a large amount of chandlery surplus items. These are often still in their original packaging which would technically make them like new. However they can often be many years old. Some items we may describe as shop soiled. This is our way of saying they have been sat in a warehouse for some time.
We are happy to accept offers on the items we list. You can make offers by using the “Make An Offer” tab. This will be present on most listings, if there is no Make An Offer tab then we are not open to offers on that specific item. This means that the price the item is listed for is the lowest we are happy to accept. Please note that shipping will be added to any Free Shipping item if you make an offer.
Used Boats and Vehicles
From time to time we will list boats and vehicles that we have in for sale. We often have project boats, used boats or scrap boats that are too nice for the chop. These are all sold as seen and we recommend you come to view them before purchasing.
Sold as Seen and Your Rights to Return
When we list an item we will provide an honest description of the condition, along with some recent pictures. All items are sold as seen but will still be covered by The Consumer Rights Act and The Online Consumer Contracts Regulation. You have the right to cancel any order within 14 days. However if the item is as described in the advert/pictures you will have to cover the return postage costs. No refunds will be issued until we have the item returned to our office in Gosport.
If you buy an item that is sold as described and wish to return we will offer a refund once the item has been returned to us in the condition it was sent.
Items Damaged or Lost in the Post
We send all items through insured post, however some fragile items like Glass, Perspex, Furniture etc cannot be insured. We are unable to offer insured shipping on Hatches, as such, they are shipped as is and at your own risk. If the item is lost or damaged in the post we cannot refund your money if the item wasn’t insured.
We will make every effort to ensure they are well packaged for shipping, but we are unable to accept any responsibility for any damage they may suffer during transit.
Some items we list are Collection Only. Shipping can potentially be arranged for these items however this is down to the buyer to organise. You can liaise with our team about getting items collected by couriers either by phone or email.
Local Pick Up and Collection Only
Local pick up or buy in person is available on almost all of the items we list. If our team list an item as Collection Only and the buyer wishes to have it collected by a courier, this is down to the buyer to arrange. If the item is then lost in transit it is the buyer’s responsibility to go through the lost items process with the courier.
Some couriers or postal services lose or damage items. If an item is damaged or lost in the post that has been insured, we will refund you your money once we have been reimbursed by the carrier. Some carriers can take up to 90 days to process lost item cases but once we have been refunded we can return the money.
Cash on Collection Orders
Cash On Collection is available for all Local Pickup orders, however, we will only hold your order for 2 business days. Please arrange to collect and pay within this time or your order will be cancelled and the item will be re-listed. We are happy to hold items for a longer period of time so long as they are paid for in advanced. You can select Local Pickup as your delivery method and pay for the item online, and specify in the order notes when you will be down to collect.
International Shipping, Brexit and EU Shipments
Not available as standard on the store but can be arranged on a case by case basis by speaking to a member of the team. Brexit has changed the way we can send items to the EU. Please be aware shipments to the EU are now subject to new customs rules and regulations. You may have to pay your local VAT rate on anything you purchase from us. For example if you buy a £100 item and your country’s Tax rate is 20% you will need to pay £20 to be able to pick up your item. We are not responsible for overseas VAT charges. Please take this into consideration before purchasing.
